Laser welding system with updated 200W laser
FOR manual laser welding, Rofin has introduced the Integral all-purpose laser welding system with a com-
pletely updated 200 Watt laser source.
The new design is focused on optimising welding results with highly reflective materials such as aluminium.
The new laser resonator improves the pulse-to-pulse stability and the depth of focus and hence the system’s
flexibility when welding demanding material combinations.
A new ‘V track’ mode for easy definition of parallel welding vectors, by inputting two points, has also been
launched. This allows the definition of complex welding paths using the x-y-z and rotary axis, enabling a heli-
cal thread to be welded easily.

Resolving high/low mismatch faster
INDUSTRIAL Magnetics, Inc has introduced the Mag-Pry™, to eliminate the need for welded tabs when per-
forming material levelling and alignment, or high/low mismatch operations.
Claimed to be up to 100 times faster than traditional plate matching welding methods, the Mag-Pry saves time
and increases production rates by utilising a powerful, on/off rare earth magnet attached to a levelling bar to
align and hold two separate pieces of steel together for a seamless weld.
The strong, non-marring, Mag-Pry has 1,100lb of breakaway force with a locking T-handle for safety, and of-
fers easy on/off actuation of the magnet with a simple twist of a switch – no electricity is required. To operate,
the magnet is placed on the ‘low’ side of the steel, the locking T-handle is turned to the ‘On’ position. The op-
erator then presses down on the levelling bar (‘high’ side) while the two surfaces are welded together. When
securely held, the T-handle is turned to the ‘Off’ position and the welding operation is finished
