Results

A LC-MS/MS method for analysis of nicotinic acid and nicotinamide and calculation of total

niacin (vitamin B3) in infant and adult nutrition formula and pet food matrices was developed

and validated. Results are presented in the following sections.

(a)

Results of Chromatogrphy by the method: The chromatographic part of the method

could separate nicotinic acid and nicotinamide in the samples from other water soluble

B vitamins may present and also from any matrix interferences. Peak shapes of the

nicotinic acid as well as nicotinamide were good (fig 1).
