Meeting Room
An offer of a room by Tates Cafe for Committee meetings at 2/0d a time was
considered unsatisfactory. It was subsequently reported that a room at the Primitive
Methodist Church, Borough Road could be had, but only for Friday evenings, which
was not acceptable, A room at the Victoria Club, Clarence Terrace was to be
investigated. G.W.Liddle agreed that meetings could continue to be held at his
promises and he was paid the sum of 2/0d per meeting.
Bank
Ordered that Lloyds Bank Ltd, be the bankers of the Club and that all cheques drawn
should be signed by the Chairman and either of the Secretaries.
G.W,Liddle and W.H,Rudland were elected Trustees of trophies belonging to the
Club.
A Competitions & Entertainments Committee were elected and a Smoking Concert
was suggested for the 16th April and that £5 be allowed for same, to be held at the
Borough Hotel, Corporation Road at a cost of 10/0d. Artists were paid 10/0d and
7/6d respectively. Comedians were Will Penketh and W.Hall, Instrumentalist
Braithwaite, plus a pianist. Trophies belonging to the Club to be collected and put on
view.
The Richmond Meet, Good Friday, to start from the Sadler Memorial near the Town
Hall at 10 a.m. M.Jefferson to arrange a Secret Competition, Club H.Q. at the Black
Lion Hotel, Richmond. Machines to be set off at ½ minute intervals. H,V,Taylor gave
a guinea prize for same. Press Secretaries – G.W,Liddle and V,Taylor were elected.
Presentation to Jim Gilchrist for his services to the Club on the occasion of his
marriage was decided upon and agreed that all members be circularised asking
them to support same.

W.Ryan appealed for more enthusiasm in competitions and complained of officials'
non-attendance at the Yearby Hill Climb on 31
st
May. It was reported that members
appeared not to want competitions but more social runs.
Mr T,A. Gjertsen, having left the district, Mr Pepper was elected to his position on the
Committee.
Invitation extended to Mr Gill, (Editor of the Sports Gazette), to attend the Giers
Cup Trial.
At the recommendation of the President, John Gjers, Mr J,Mills was elected a
Vice President and he was written to advising him of this and asking him if he
would provide a car to go round the 200-miles Trial course.
