obtaining suitable premises for the Club’s HQ. Taking into consideration the
high rentals they had done nothing further in this matter.
Yorkshire Centre ACU
A Yorkshire Centre of the ACU having being formed, the Club was affiliated to
same, the fee being 1/6d per member.
Saltburn Speed Trials
A keen desire was expressed to hold Open Speed Trials and the President,
John Gjers, was consulted with a view to securing permission to hold such an
event on Saltburn Sands. Permission for same was granted by Lord Zetland and
an application was made to the Yorkshire Centre for the event to be held during
1921.
Competitions and Social Runs
The opening run took place to Richmond on Good Friday. 27 members turned
out. A novel machine starting competition was held, competition being
blindfolded in the Market Place. F Shephers secured the first prize.
During the year 7 Hill Climbs, 2 Surprise Runs, 3 Speed-Judging Competitions,
2 Team Trials, 1 Blindfold Competition and a 45 mile Reliability Trial was held,
all of which received very good entries.

Scoon Trial, Silver Bowl given by Rankin S Scoon and Gold
Medal presented by J Ogilvie.

Trial for Silver Cup to be won outright, to be presented by the
President, John Gjers, in the Cleveland & Hambledon Hills,
which included the famous Rosedale Bank. 30 competitors
took part. 1

prizes took place at a Smoking Concert in the Wellington
Hotel on 17

November, the Crests Party of Stockton
supplied the harmony.
