The Committee were recommended to consider a donation to the Hospitals and
that an effort be made to hold a number of the Trials on a Saturday.
E,Blackburn was elected an Honorary Life member and the proposal was
carried with acclamation.
Note: E.Blackburn was 86 and was reputed to be the oldest motorcyclist in the
country, father of George and Alf.Blackburn:
President John Gjers was elected a Vice/President of the Yorkshire Centre.
March 26th. The Winter Reliability Trial for the H.V,Taylor Trophy. There
were 20 competitors, winner D,Brigham of Malton.
April 6th. Trial for the New Hudson Cup, won by A.V,Buttress.
Good Friday
Club Run to the Richmond Meet attended by 50 members including lady riders.
During the season 9 Reliability Trials, 5 Hill Climbs and 2 Speed-Judging and 1
Surprise Run and Fuel Consumption Trial, plus the well-known Speed Trials on
Saltburn Sands, were held. No less than 11 Club Runs took place which were
well supported.
The Trial for the Scott Bowl took place on April 23
rd
Won by W,Tattersall during the
course of which there was a break which allowed members to witness the freak Hill
Climb on Rosedale Abbey Bank organised by the Bradford Club.
June 11th. C.W,Smith Trial. Entry of 23 – E Lund won the Silver Cup outright.
July 1st. Saltburn Speed Trials. The Event proved to be more successful than
the 1921 event, attracting a record entry including the majority of the best riders
of the day.
