C.W,Srnith offered a Cup to be won outright.
W.T.Smith resigned as Sports Secretary which was accepted with regret,
A.V,Buttress, Hon.Secretary and T,Ainsley, Hon.Treasurer, represented the Club
at the Centre Dinner & Prize Presentation together with A,W,Foster.
The surn of five guineas was voted to a Centre Presentation Fund for
W,A.Dovener, Yorkshire Centre Secretary.
Christmas Party. - It was agreed that instead of the usual Dinner the Club
organise a Christmas Party and a Sub-committee was appointed to arrange
same.
Secretarys’ Honoraria. - Announced that a sum of £12 had been voted to this
and it was to be equally divided between the Hon.Secretary and Treasurer. This
in respect of the organisation of the Saltburn Speed Trials. Further agreed that
the sum of 3/0d per member be also equally divided.
Report on the Centre Dinner & Prize Distribution was made by the
Hon.Secretary and
a letter thanking Dr. D.J.F,O'Flanaghan for his practical
interest in the matter.
The Treasurer in dealing with the Clubs finances reported that a profit of .£22
resulted from the Annual Ball.
Presentation to John Gjers. - Decided to open a subscription list to suitably
present a testimonial to Mr Gjers on the occasion of his marriage and
H.S,Williams was appointed to take charge of this matter.
Hon. Secretary, having been in correspondence with the Secretary of the
Bombay Motor Club, letters passing between them were read. (Badge in Club).
Decided to nominate John Gjers as a Vice-President of the Yorkshire Centre
A.C.U,
Agreed to present Mr J.Blakison with the Club’s Bronze Medal being the first
member to climb Roseberry Topping on a motorcycle.
Alex Thompson drew attention to the danger of large clots of mud and earth left by
farmers on the roads near the entrance to their fields and decided to write to the
A.C.U. asking for guidance in the matter,
At the subsequent A.G.M. it was reported that the membership was 160 gentlemen
and 22 ladies, an increase of 30. The Income was £657 and Expenditure £538
