Sadler Fuel Consumption Trial - J.Gilchrist who won the Cup outright. (This was
subsequently given back to the Club by his daughter.)
Wye Cup Trial - H.(Cap) Armstrong.
Gjers Cup Trial - A.V.Buttress. John Gjers Trial - A.V.Buttress.
Saltburn Speed trials - 20-mile championship,
250 cc. - G.Eeynard.
550 cc. - F.W.Dixon.
500 cc. - J.H.Smith.
1000 cc. - W.Wilknson.
50-mile Handicap Race - J.H.Smith, speed 56.42 m.p.h. winning the Presidents
Gold Cup. The first man past the post was Percy Bell but he was excluded for
concealing certain details of his engine, this being a handicap race.
During the year Mr Fred W.Dixon has represented the Club in international
competitions riding in the Isle of Man, France, Belgium, Italy. He made the record
lap in the Sidecar T.T. and the record standing start lap in the Junior Race, won the
Welsh Sidecar T.T.Race, Accomplished 100 m.p.h. on the road with a 750 c.c.
machine, made fastest time of the day solo and sidecar at Kop and took nine firsts,
also broke 24 World's records in the space of three weeks including the hour record.
Mr E.F.Parkinson represented the Club in the Amateur T.T.Race. He retired through
ignition trouble in the last lap when lying sixth, he also competed and won awards at
Seaton Carew and Duridge Bay.
Other members who have completed in Open, Centre and other Club events and
won awards are J.T.Jobborn, J.A.Jellicoe, T.H.Blackburn, A.V.Buttress and
T.W.Denney who won six firsts at Donoaster and the Motor Cycle Cup.
