Social Events. New Year Party on January 7th. Pie Supper & Dance in the
Linthorpe Assembly Rooms on 11th March. For this G.D.Freeman's Band was
booked at a fee of 4 guineas and it was decided to include a set of Lancers in the
programme. Catering was by Merediths.
The sixth Annual Ball was held in the Town Hall on Dec.18th. Two Bands were
engaged. Space reserved in the centre of the floor for the Charleston, marked by a
white line and it was decided to instruct the M/C's not to worry if it was found
impossible to keep the Charleston players in the space marked off. Decorations and
lighting wore by George Buck, the Town Hall Manager, for £40. Tickets remained at
10/6d, two grand pianos to be obtained.
A souvenir programme and ladies' fans to be obtained. It was decided to apply for
an extension until 5 a.m. (refused).
A Smoking Concert and Prize Presentation took place on 10th December at the
Corporation Hotel. Artists were paid 10/0d each,
R.F.Parkinson was entered in the Amateur Road Racing in the Isle of Man. He
retired due to ignition trouble.
F.W.Dixon again represented the Club in all major road races in England and on the
Continent.

Percy Mushens.
