The A.G.M. was held on 27th Jan.1927. Alex Thomson occupied the Chair and
upwards of 50 members were present.
Committee's Report gave a full coverage of the year's activities. Adoption was
moved by W.Ryan who said it reminded him of many happy days and a lot of work
successfully carried out.
Financial Statement reported a slight loss but the Treasurer, T.Ainsley, said this was
accounted for by the writing off of various assets.
Considered that the Club had gained prestige by the entry of a rider in the Amateur
T.T.Race and by the successes of the Motorcycle Football Team.
Subscriptions were fixed as follows:- Gents - 10/6d, entrance fee 2/6d.
Ladies - 5/0d, no entrance fee.
Visiting members - 7/6d.
Junior members (persons not having attained their
19th birthday) - 5/0d, no entrance fee.
Lady and Junior members to have a half vote at General Meetings.
A discussion took place on the question of Equality of the Sexes (Women's Lib;) and
the proposals to give Lady and Junior members half a vote was defeated.
Election of Officers; President - John Gjers.
V/Presidents - W.Armstrong, Phil Bach, A.Blackburn, G.B.Craig, F.W.Dixon,
A.W.Foster, J.Gilchrist, Dr. D.J.F.O'Flanaghan, W.Ryan, C.W.Smith, G.L.Wye,
A.J.Young, A.Thomson and H.S.Williams.
Gen.Sec - A.V.Buttress. Assis.Sec. - W.Tattersall. Financial Sec. - T.Ainsley,
Captain - A.Thomson. V/Captain - H.(Cap)Armstrong.
Auditors - A.W.Munnoch and W.Weaver. Hon.Solicitor - Harold Darcy.
Motorcycle Football Team Captain - J.F.Dixon.
Committee:- A.Smith, K.H.Richardson, J.Parsons, B.F.Parkins on, A.Hind,
G.W.Liddle, H.I.Pybus, D.Black, W.McMaster.
At the first meeting of the Committee Alex Thomson was re-elected Chairman.
A sub-committee was appointed to seek a site for a Freak Hill Climb and a prize was
offered for the best slogan.
A Vote of Thanks to the Chairman (Alex Thomson) was carried with musical
honours. All joined in the song - "Why was he born so beautiful, Why was he born at
all".
