1923
The Annual Dinner was held at the Corporation Hotel on January 19th, tickets
being 5/- and was limited to 80 persons.
The Annual Meeting was held at Hintons Cafe on 25th January, the Chair being
taken by G,Butt Craig and it was reported in respect of 1922 that the
membership amounted to 152 which showed a decrease of 6. The Income to
£701 and the Expenditure to £605 leaving a balance in hand of £96, A letter was
read from L.B.Dickinson suggesting that the Club nominate a rider for the
Amateur Road Race to be held in the Isle of Man on Sept.27th.
The Pres. John Gjers was re-elected and the following V/Presidents G.B.Craig,

re-election of H.S.Williams who thanked the members for the honour conferred
and said he was reluctantly compelled to decline owing to pressure of business.

J.T,Jobborn.
Committee were asked to arrange for social runs on the Wednesdays during the
year,
Richmond Meet, 1923. Reported that the Yorkshire Centre had decided to
abandon the Richmond Meet on account of the expense entailed and the large
amount of work necessary to make the event a success. The Yorkshire Centre
was asked to reconsider the matter and that it should be held also as a Social
Run. It was subsequently decided to advise the Yorkshire Centre and the Press
that the Club would organise the Richmond Meet and invite all clubs to meet
them there on Good Friday. The event to be of a purely social nature and thus
abandoning the competition part, and included as an added attractor, the first
MotorCycle Football Match, Darlington versus Middlesbrough.
Another match was played at Ripon on Whit. Monday.
A Gymkhana event was run and the winners received a prize value 5/0d. A
collection of £3.7.0d sent to the Mayor of Richmond for distribution amongst
local charities.
Motor Taxation. - Agreed to write the A.C.U, that the members of the Club met in
their A.G,M, consider that the only fair method of taxation is a tax on petrol.
At the first Committee Meeting A,Blackburn was elected Chairman and
C.N.Sadler Vice/ Chairman.
The Annual. Ball was fixed for December 14th at the Town Hall.
