brandy,

your

glass

with

cracked

ice.

Shake

the

mixture

thoroughly.

pint

bottle

of

champagne

as cold as

possible

is

poured

out

into

two

ice-cold

glasses

with

room

enough

for

your

first

mixture,

which

is

to

be

strained

into

the

cold

champagne

very

slowly;

care

must

be

taken

not

to

have

the

mixture

overflow.
