GCR Eurodraw is exhibiting on the
Italian Pavilion with literature and
photos to illustrate the extensive range
of GCR products and services for the
ferrous wire industry, including: cold
rolling lines, dry and wet drawing
machines, vertical/horizontal bull
blocks, static and rotating coilers, single
and double spoolers, coil/spool re-
winding lines; rod breakdown machines,
wire preparation and treatment lines
for electrolytic and electroless cleaning
and plating; double twist stranders,
bunchers and cabling machines; skip
stranders; tubular stranders; plants for
production of PC wire and strand and
hi-bond wire; tyre cord, hose wire,
bead wire, wire ropes, welding wire,
staple wire, and stainless steel wire;
engineering and know-how.
With the recent acquisition of DEM, in
cooperation with EVG of Austria in
2007, the production programme of
the group now also covers rolling
cassettes and wire profile machinery.
Furthermore, in cooperation with
the South African company VJL
Technologies, GCR Eurodraw offers
batch-pickling plants. This puts GCR
in a strong position to offer turnkey
plants for a wide variety of steel wire,
cord and cable products.
This is the first time that GCR
Eurodraw will be exhibiting at wire
China with Comapac Wire Machinery,
another new associated company of
the GCR Group. Besides pointing
machines and a wide range of spool
and coil pay-offs and take-ups,
Comapac also manufactures cold
rolling lines and various wire
processing accessories.

Gimax has existed as a company
since 1978, supplying its re-spooling
machinery since the early 1980s.
Gimax is a specialist in the fields of
re-spooling and drum packing. Gimax
manufactured the first semi-automatic
or manually operated re-spoolers in
the 1980s. Now known as the
Polidigital, this machine has been
updated, upgraded and improved
over the years but has maintained its
general appearance.

variety of drum sizes

On the stand at wire China, Gimax
will have information and possibly a
prototype of the new fully automatic
spooler for small 2lb spools. This new
line is scheduled for launch onto the
market in mid-2008. With an increase
in the use of robotic welding equipment
welding wire coiled into drums, as
opposed to spools, has become has
become a necessity. The larger the
drum, the more the robot welder can
operate without interruptions. Gimax
has always been active in this segment
of the market and for many years has
been supplying its basic INF-1 drum
packer to the industry.
The INF-1 has proved a reliable and
flexible machine running at an
acceptable speed with a range of
different types of wire.

Ideal-Werk will display a wide range of
machines for butt welding of steel and
non-ferrous wire from 0.1 to 20mm
diameter. Butt welders are used in wire
drawing, cable manufacturing and wire
fabricating companies all over the
world.
Annealing devices are available for
annealing of the weld joints in carbon
steel wire.
Machines are available for butt welding
of stranded copper and aluminium
conductors with sectional areas of
0.12 to 1,500mm² and for welding the
stranded conductors within glass,
ceramic or graphite sleeves. Special
welders are available for welding of
steel cord, bead wire and many other
wire products.
Ideal is also known in the market for
the development and manufacture
of wire mesh welders as well as jig
welders for various wire articles.
