Asweenter the spring seasonwe look forward to thewarmerweather, the flowers, thegreen
grass and the returnofmanyvisitors to theCapeCod region. The influxof people is great for the
local economy including thepartnershipof ShieldsHealthCareandCapeCodHealthcare. To
prepare for thisweare fine tuningour schedules andmakingour processes andproceduresmore
efficient.Wewill relyonour extendedper diempool of techs and techaides toassistwith
coverage throughour busy season.
Weareexcited thatwehave several new techaides that have just joinedus. Theyare Lauren
Wolf, JessicaO’Brien, VanessaThomas andMadisonChilds. These fourwill complement our
existing techaide staff of EricaDupree, CindyFluke,MargeEmanuel, ClaudiaBriody, JimSharpe,
CarrieMiller, RosieMiller, Jenni Arthur,NicoleDemeoandAndreaZalgenas.Our per diem techs
are JackiePike,MaureenRobbins, KrystenMossman,MarieWoods, DerekCarver, PamDoody
andSeanSweeney.Weareaswell grateful for the regular part timeand full time techs that
performextraordinaryworkeverydayproviding thebest care for our patients.
We’vemade someother staffingadjustments to improveonour efficiency. KristinMcLellanand
TrudySinnareno longer float techs as they’renow inpermanent techpositions.Wehad to say
goodbye toCarol Kodzisoneof our techs at FalmouthHospital.Wehope that shewill returnas a
per diem tech.
Our Yarmouth site ismoving forwardwithUrographyandwearebeginning to seea slight
uptick inprostateexams. Building confidence inour procedureswithourUrologygroupof
doctors is essential for success.
Our CapeCodHospital sitehasmanyemergencyand inpatients all year.Oneof our
challenges is thenumber of telemetrymonitoredpatients that needanMRI.
Our FalmouthHospital sitehasmadeadjustments to their scheduling templatewhichhave
already createdand increase inutilization.
OurWilkens sitehasperformed their firstneedle localizationprocedure. ThebreastMRI
examshave skyrocketed thanks inpart toour sales team, especially JimFaganandGary
Johnson, andour techandCCHCMD team.
Our Sandwich sitehas gone intoa lull andwearehoping that thebusinesswill improve
over thenext fewmonths.
OurHarwich site is closeduntil earlyMay. There ismajor constructionproject inwhicha
newUrgent Care center isbeingbuilt. This isnext to theMRI dockingandofficearea.We
expect thatwewill seean increase indemand forMRI serviceonce it’soperational.
Wearealsograteful for themanypeople that arepart of our teambut playanactive rolebehind
