A.G.M. was held on Wednesday, 18
th
Feb. Committee reported that the Membership
was 332, a decrease of 23.
Congratulations accorded to W.Ryan on his election as President (1930) of the
Yorkshire Centre .A.C.U.
A.W.Foster was thanked for the trophy he had presented for the Winter Trial.
The Saltburn Speed Trials and the Annual Ball had not been a success financially.
The Turnover for the year was £2,445 - Cash in Hand £232 - Liabilities amounted to
£280,
Assets £506, a loss on the year's working of £41, and in view of the General
Depression and lack of money in the district it was decided to cancel the booking of
the Town Hall for this year.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. V/Presidents having been elected for a term of 5 years.
The resignations of H.S.Williams and Dr. D.J.F.O'Flanaghan were received.
G.W.Liddle was elected to fill one of these vacancies.
Committee: A.W.Armstrong, A.C.Allen, B.Richardson, W.McMaster, F.Creasor.
A.W.Foster was elected Chairman, A.C.Allen V/Chairman.
DURING THE YEAR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS OF INTEREST HAVE BEEN
NOTED;
YORKSHIRE CENTRE. A.V.Buttress and A.W.Foster were elected V/Presidents and
A.V.Buttress was elected a member of the Emergency Committee.
The applications for a Centre Trial on Easter Monday, April 16th and Open Speed
Trials at Saltburn on Saturday, July 11th had been agreed and T.Ellis was appointed
as Timekeeper.
AFFILIATION FEES TO THE A.C.U. paid amounted to £26.17.0d.
NATIONAL SAFETY FIRST COUNCIL. The inaugural meeting of the Middlesbrough
branch was held on March 19th and the Hon.Sec. and Chairman were organising
this on behalf of the Club.
CHAIRMAN'S BADGE. having been received was presented to the Chairman at a
meeting held on 21st May and the members present drank his health and success to
the Club.
CLUB BADGES. 24 were ordered at a cost of 12/6d each.
MOTOR CLUB JOURNAL. E.Upton & Sons claimed that they were paying quarter of
the amount received from advertising and they had decided to withdraw from the
front page. No payment having been received in respect of F.Burr's advert it was
decided to withdraw same.
THE LEEDS CLUB having failed to pay the awards in the Team Trial 1930 had said
that they were in the process of reorganisation and if same was successful payments
would be made. Subsequently 40 watch cases were received from the Leeds Club
as part payment of the amount due.
